NAIROBI, KENYA – On January 28, the Faithflows Youth in Nairobi, Kenya, made a visit to the Matthew 25 Orphanage, which houses 51 children affected by HIV and those who have been displaced or lost both parents. With a team of 14 young volunteers, the Faithflows Youth brought food supplies, educational materials, and hygiene products to the children, entertained them with face painting and other fun activities, cleaned the orphanage, washed the laundry, helped to cook dinner, and shared a meal with the children.
The director of the orphanage expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Faithflows Kenya team for the wonderful day spent with the children. He said,
The Faithflows Youth Program is designed to build skills, grit, and empathy through education and to mobilize young people in the fight against poverty through humanitarian missions. The Kenya Care Drive was a testament to the organization’s mission in action.
However, the team realized that there are still challenges that the orphanage needs to address in the future, including a need for more mentorship, hygiene products like sanitary towels and boys’ underwear, clothing, technology training, and resources. The Faithflows team is dedicated to finding solutions and making a lasting impact in the lives of those in need.
In addition to the recent care drive, Faithflows is also working on a unique approach to supporting orphanages that have experienced a steep decline in donations in the wake of the pandemic. One of our mission goals is to partner with orphanages in Africa, providing youth volunteers to assist with care and raising funds through our innovative app, which is currently in progress. With this transparent platform, we aim to provide regular updates and reports on the orphanage homes and the children they serve, allowing donors to see the direct impact of their contributions and build trust in our mission.
