Our Effort To Empower Communities In Sierra Leone

Impact Space’ impact goal in Sierra Leone is to build resilient communities

| Justus Njuki

In Sierra Leone, effects of Covid-19 have rendered many families hopeless, and hunger is undoubtedly inevitable. Hundreds of youths and small children’s  dreams are shattered. We are building resilient communities by protecting their financial health status.

“At the end of the day, it’s all about the dream, the people, and a dash of rollercoaster type excitement solving inescapable problems and challenges. Solving some of the world’s oldest challenges”. Rene Nyarko, Director Impact Space.

To make it a success, efforts are massively mobilized to empower young people while providing food and basic health necessities through Love in Action Campaigns in the affected communities.

As a major contributing factor, Covid-19 pandemic has redefined the way of living in Sierra Leone. From its devastating effects on mental health and disruption of livelihood, to economic instability, Covid-19 has by far destabilized people’s way of living.

Through Impact Space ,I’ve received a lot of support, love and care and my life is a testimony to many young people. We’ve had several activities, among them visiting  SHOW Love Children’s Home , and the little children were overwhelmed with joy”, Amara Vandi, a Impact Space Chapter Leader, Sierra Leone.

These are stories of hope in the face of challenges and communities in Sierra Leone are re-grouping to create a better future for the young people.
